Attempts have been and are being made throughout the world to identify and remediate Learning Disabilities. We have been a part of this in the public schools in the past, and since 1986 through a private clinic/center called LearningDisabilities.Com .  Our center is located in Winter Park, Florida, which is northeast of and adjacent to Orlando (home of the NBA's Orlando Magic).

Since 1986 we have discovered ways to identify and successfully remediate specific subtypes of these things called Learning Disabilities.  We felt that the world needs to know that success is now available.  We are not the only clinic/center to have achieved such extraordinary success, but unfortunately there are only a few presently available.

A definition of Learning Disabilities which comes via the U.S. Congress Public Law 94-142: Education for All Handicapped Children Act is:

Specific Learning Disabilities
A disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, which disorder may manifest itself in imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. Such disorders include such conditions as perceptual handicaps, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia. Such term does not include children who have learning problems, which are primarily the result of visual, hearing, or motor handicaps, or mental retardation, of emotional disturbance, or of environmental, cultural, or economic disadvantage.
The National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH)describes learning disabilities as:
A disorder that affects people's ability to either interpret what they see and hear or to link information from different parts of    the brain.  These limitations can show up in many ways -- as specific difficulties with spoken and written language, coordination, self-control, or attention.  Such difficulties extend to schoolwork and can impede learning to read or write, or to do math.
